SECTION 1 – GENERAL SPECIFICATION
1.1 SYSTEM OUTLINE
This specification covers the requirements for the design and supply, necessary modification to increase capacity of the exisiting WWTP (WT2#) from 50 m3/h to 60 m3/hr located in Astra Daihatsu Motor Plant in Sunter Jakarta.
The plant consists mainly of
- Waste holding tank
- Chemical treament
- Biological treatment
- Sludge disposal
- Polishing filter
Assumption Taken:
Raw waste water from Booth, and other process are considered not vary in quantity. Only waste water from Washing and ED are considered to increase by 10 m3/hour :

1 | Waste holding system | As other process waste water except for Washing and ED are not considered to change no additional pumps are added for the increase in volume. However for Booth Process, 2 additional submersible pumps are added to provide for reliable transfer system. Washing & ED tank – 2 submersibles pump added with capacity of 20 m3/h and new line of DN 65. |
2 | Chemical Treatment | To remove most suspended solids contain in the waste water, pH adjust, coagulation and flocculation process tank are still used. The existing agitators shall be replaced to introduce better mixing and better floc formation and to cope with the increase capacity. Interconnecting piping shall be added new connecting piping. Before the DAF tank , a new pre-settler/extended floculation tank (8 m3) is added to remove large and heavy flocs that is allready formed. DAF system – Recycle pump shall be replace with special fine bubble making pump. A false bottom floor made of perforated plate shall be added in the DAF tank. |
3 | Biological Treatment | The exisiting volume of aeration tank should be enough to cover the increase capacity. More oxygen should be introduce by adding 2 new more blowers. The recycle sludge rate is further increase by air lift system. More concentration of activated sludge is maintain. To assists in separation in clarifier , lamella shall be installed (also to cope with increased flow rate) |
4 | Sludge Disposal | More sludge are expected to be handled because of increase flow rate and higher bio –sludge production. A new Filter Press shall be installed. |
5 | Polishing Filter | After clarifier , 20 m3/hour filtration (feed pumps, sand filter and carbon filter) system shall be added.
The existing sand filter shall be upgrade and rehabilitate by replacing the sand (sand and activaved carbon filter) |
