SECTION 1 – GENERAL SPECIFICATION

1.1  SYSTEM OUTLINE

This specification covers the requirements for the design and supply combine operation of RO and Mixbed, capacity 45 m3/h deionized water system for PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor.

The plant consists mainly of

  • 1 train RO plant capacity 45 m3/h
  • 5 train Mixbed plant each capacity 15 m3/h
  • Pretreatment System

Feed water from the city water flow through activated carbon filter and then goes to Softener to reduce hardness content, after that the water is injected with chemical treatment as follow :

1 Ox Biocide To kill microorganism and hence protect the RO membrane from biological fouling, also act to oxidize solube iron to protect RO membrane from iron fouling.
2 Dehalogenation To act as an chlorine scavenger that will remove any oxidants in the water, to protect RO membranes against any attack by the oxidants
3 Anti Scalant To hinder salt crystallization in RO concentrate stream and thus prevent scaling on RO membrane

The conditioning water is boosted and fed to the reverse osmosis modules. Under high pressure, the water is forced through the RO membranes. Salts are not permeable and are thus retained on the membrane surface. As such, the water is separated into two streams. One stream will be the water passing through the RO membranes, this stream contains small amount of salts and is termed as the permeate (or product water). The other stream contains the salts and is termed as the concentrate (or reject water)

Permeate / Product RO is collected in RO product Tank, then goes to Mixbed to polished quality of water, and deionized water conductivity maximum will be 5 mikrosiemens.
